About
We are an Ethiopian owned Spice Company selling spices, herbs and other dry goods grown and traditionally processed in Ethiopia. Our team is 85% women, and one of Fetlework's goals is to offer stable, equitable, year round employment to everyone working in Ethiopia - including farmers, spice processors and admin. Most of our sales are direct to customers online but we also offer wholesale & sourcing/exports. Our founder, Fetlework Tefferi, is a 2024 Black Women in Food honoree in the Trailblazing category for her entrepreneurship showcasing the beauty of East African cuisine & community. We have a few big partnerships, like Blue Bottle Coffee and a few in the works.
We also have a restaurant (Cafe Colucci) in Oakland, CA that serves California style Ethiopian food (think fresh local produce on every plate) with a full vegan menu in addition to meat and seafood and a beverage program featuring Black and African owned spirits. Its has a small shop in the front selling Brundo Spices & coffee, cookbooks, wine & spirits from Black and African purveyors. Cafe Colucci has been open and operating since 1991!
